Not only is Berlin content with nicking all of our best and brightest creative talent just now, the city is pulling artists of all nationalities in, like moths batting against its everbright lights and laidback buzz. Eritrean-Swedish singer Adiam couldn't resist its pull, and we can't fight against hers either. The slick and coolly impassioned 'Desert Island' is the impressive first taste of her similarly-titled debut EP and we're already craving more. Crisp, controlled vocals are carried aloft on the shoulders of simplistic, but no less alluring, piano chords and muted percussion before a burbled electronic beat and more punchy drum machine licks chime in and transform this from a downtempo ballad to a euphoric triumph.
